When you create a call, CallingBox reserves credits from your balance upfront — the per-call hold. Once the call finishes:- If someone answered, you’re charged for the connected time and the unused portion of the hold is released.
- If nobody answered (no answer, busy, failed), the entire hold is released. No charge.
Per-call hold
The hold is sized to cover the worst-case cost of a single call (the maximum allowed call duration at the per-minute rate). If your balance falls below the hold, calls pause — both inbound and outbound — even if you still have credits left. Example: if the hold is 1.88, the next call is rejected with:Calls paused. Your balance is 3.00 hold (we release it back if no one answers). Add $1.12 or more in credits to keep calling.You can see the current hold and your live wallet status on the Billing page.
